Wanting a magazine of our own, my husband and I decided to develop our idea into an online publication for children. Wee Ones was born in March 2001 and continues to go strong. Wee Ones does pay its contributors. The costs come out of our own pockets and while we are able to do this every month, we would like to see the magazine support itself. We are looking for businesses to partner with us. For more information please e-mail us at info@weeonesmag.com.
Wee Ones is an online publication for children ages 5-10. It was the first of its kind on the Internet. There are many children’s sites but few have taken the concept of a print magazine and applied it to the Internet. Our motto is Families Growing Together by Reading Together. Because the Internet can be a dangerous place, we encourage parents to read to their children and watch their online use. |
It’s easy to use too! Simply log onto www.weeonesmag.com and start reading! Wee Ones receives over 40,000 hits a month. We work with talented authors and illustrators from all over the world, who send us their work every month for review. And, we are one of the few paying online magazines!
I work as publisher, editor and accountant. Jeff works as art editor, layout artist, graphic designer and webmaster. Our children are involved as well. They review books, read stories and support their parents. We donate many of the books we receive to children’s charities such as Children’s Book for Flooded Appalachia and Books From the Heart Program. As well, we give books to our local schools.
